An infinitesimal fish and a fishy church

Having skipped a few weeks, I am making a tiny contribution to the WordPress Photo Challenge again.

My daughter needs a magnifying glass to survey this fish properly. In fact it is so tiny if you look at it from the side you won’t see it at all… Photos 1 and 2 were taken at the Montagu Saturday market a beautiful village in the Western Cape province of South Africa, once crowned as the most beautiful village in South Africa. A wide variety of eclectic items can be bought from equally eccentric vendors. The market happens to be dwarfed by a big white church but not the one in photo number 3.

The market will dwarf this one as it is a model of the church in Baardskeerdersbos (Beard shavers forest), which is a really tiny village also in the Western  Cape of South Africa and can only be reached by dirt road, but alas has been discovered by the city folk. A baardskeerder is the Afrikaans name for a Solifugae which is often mistaken for spider but more closely related to scorpion.

In the photo I tried to make the model, which is about a meter in size, appear as if it is a real building, being the church in photo number 4. I took quite a few photos and was about to take a photo similar to the one in the 5th photo when the battery died on me 😦 .  I meant to go back but as it never happened I include this photo taken by Tillie Coetzee so you see the model in context.
