The Supermoon having hit the skies this week, filled me with quite a bit of photographic frustration; almost anxiety! My camera is in for repair and the parts must be ordered from Singapore thus no quick fix in time for Supermoon 😦 and no photos of said moon.
Knowing that snapping the moon with my Sony mobile phone would be nonsensical, I drove around to find something to photograph in the relation to the moon (just to feel as if I am part of the hysteria). I had a building in mind which is lit up in the evening and changes colour every few minutes but alas, it wasn’t lit (maybe in honour of the supermoon). I drove further to take a photo of the Glacier building but it was the signage which caught my eye. The image turned out to be magical enough to fit in with this weeks WordPress photo challenge. A super bright super glacier floating above the moon but outshining and upstaging it.
With the correct settings I could have taken this image with my Nikon camera, but I wouldn’t have as I would have focused on the moon itself. Often in life we are confronted with a non-ideal situation, thinking that we are loosing out, maybe on life itself. But these situations brings other opportunities – it releases the magic we would have thought not possible. Now I am not a believer in magic, but I am believer in the God who turns things around and open our eyes to life itself.

Dankie Danie, daar is ‘n Ameriaanse ruimtevaarder (in die Space shuttle era) wat gese het: the best is never the best and the worst never the worst.
